My Weekend: San Francisco Memorial Day weekend

Memorial Day weekend might of been a long weekend but I honest didn't take too many pictures because I rather focus on the people I was with then to take pictures of food and my surroundings. I had a blast with friends that (some) I haven't seen in years. I really miss the good days back in college when we were all together. This weekend was on of those weekends where most of them came back.

Saturday: I went hiking with a friend and watched a movie with another friend.

Saturday Lunch. I was quite proud of myself for perfecting soft boil eggs.

Laid there for a while and watched the bird.

Sunday: I started the day pretty early. I went to the farmers market and Trader Joes to buy enough food to last me a week. Then in the afternoon Damon, Stacy, Donna, Alex, Jenny and I went to high tea at Rotunda above Neiman Marcus. Then we came back to my house and played just dance for a couple of hours before heading to dessert with Cesar. There we met his girlfriend and her cousin. It was just really nice catching up.

To die for!!! Popover with Strawberry cream.

I got the Decaff Vanilla Black Tea (lacked tea taste)

Tier of heaven!! My favorite would be the scone and the chocolate crunch bar.

Since mine was ehhhh, good thing I got to try other kinds of tea!

BFFs after just dance

Monday rolls around and I had another productive morning! I got up at 8:30am. Got ready and went to the salon to get some hair products. Then went to the Korean market to get snacks for my brother's GF (brain food before finals.) Came home mopped and vacuumed the floor while washing 2 loads of laundry.  Then went dim sum with friends. After dim sum, came back to my house and talked for a couple of hours.

At night I drove my BFF from 5th grade home and had dinner with her parents. It was really nice to see them after so many years. I remember playing at their house almost every weekend as a child.
 Here she is with Nala.

Me and Emily. We use to hang out at each others house and talks, do hair, listen to music...etc
As we got older, went to different high schools and different colleges, we didn't really get the chance to hang out as much. But each time we are together, we are like kids again.

I love Nala! She is such a cute and energetic puppy!!

My Weekend: Asian Heritage Fair & Ferry Building & Family BBQ

I have to say I had a very happy and eventful weekend! Got up Saturday morning and went straight to the Asian Heritage Fair. It was really fun and eventful there. First stop was to the Nature's Timber Garden's booth because my friend Emily really wanted a cute plant for her cube/office.

Family owned business. Super friendly and nice!!

So many cute plants making it super difficult to choose one!! Eventually we did and they were so nice to hold it for us until we finished walking around the fair.

Watched performances. But not really, we got our Bahn Mi and sat down and things ended. -_- Very poor timing on our parts! And I didn't get to see Jin!!! BOOO =(

They asked if we wanted to take a picture and we said yes! lol

Walked around a bit more and came to this Dragonboat recruiting booth! OMG I miss the DB days! I can't do it any more because the water is too gross. =(

Took the bus back to the car to drop off plants and we went to the Ferry building and came across this. I decided to third wheel! HAHA

Beautiful tall buildings! So So So peaceful looking out at the bay and watching the bay bridge.

Selfies by the bay..Failed fishbowl picture...
Had to stop by this while walking to the car. Next time I want to climb the bow! =)

Our plants collection!! ( Help.. I don't know how to turn this picture around. =( )

Sunday = Funday. Family day BBQ. No special occasion.

Salt, pepper, garlic salmon.
 Sweet yams, corn, and octopus.

 Chicken wings and corn.

Not so sweet refreshing watermelon.
 .
 Rainie trying to stay cool.
 Mochi too!

Ending my weekend with folding laundry, writing blog, face mask, youtube, and packing my lunch. Wished the weekends were as long as weekdays! hahah A girl can still dream!

Mask: Annie's Way Arbutin + Hyaluronic Acid

Annie's Way Arbutin + Hyaluronic Acid is a brightening jelly mask.

It claims to be "Whitening moisturizing , minimizes fine lines, leaves skin radiantly bright". I brought this because of youtube videos.... so many youtube garu's that I follow were talking about this, so I HAD to try it too! I figured that most of the masks I have been using are clay form for deep cleansing and I should use one to moisturizing. I brought this off ebay and it took about 2 weeks to get here. I had this for about 2 weeks and have used it 5 times including today.

My thoughts? Awesome!! I heard people claiming that this mask can extract black heads and that's what really sold me. I have a few pimples here and there but my main concern are my clogged pores. Since people claimed that it can extract black head, I secretly hoped it will remove my white heads too. After trying it a few times, my white heads are still there but my skin is soft and bouncy! I love it. Today was a very hot day since we are currently in a heat wave, (tomorrow will be over 100 degrees in some parts of the bay area.) using this mask felt AMAZING!! The gel felt cool to the touch acted like a shield again the heat for about 30 mins. I honestly LOVE sitting there with  a mask on while watching TVB dramas. Thats how I imagine my retired life to be!

Made in Taiwan and comes with 250mL and it has a 2 yrs shelf life. It reminds me of that gelly that doctors use for ultrasounds. I also comes with a spatula for applying and removing the gel. When you first open it, there is a silver seal and when opened for the first time it will say Void. I thought that was pretty cool and theres also a second seal from the cap to the gel. Very well packaged. There's also a bunch of chinese characters on the back of the jar which I assume are directions and ingredients. I wish I could read chinese. =(

What the jelly looks like.

Directions and ingredients.

This was originally all silver, but once broken it will look like this.

My Weekend: Farmer's Market & Playground & Napa

Saturday was my productive day this weekend. I went to the Farmer's Market in the morning to get flowers for my MAMA for mother's day and I also got enough fruits and veggies that will last me a long time! Then I went to play in the park for 2.5 hr!!! Can you believe that!?!?? I honestly havent been to a playground and played for YEARS!!! We did some volleyball, played in the structure ( played on the slide and mainly watched), dance around on the grass and attempted to do a cartwheel (failed). But its the effort that counts!!

My parents and Rachel went to a wedding and look what they brought back!?!?!?!? 85 degrees bread!! Carb Heaven. =)

HUGE box of ultra sweet strawberries. So delicious!! Made A LOT of green juice with this.
Spinach, strawberries, ice, 1/4 cup apple juice and 1 cup soy milk. So SO so SO good! Got ALL the kids to drink it.

My fragile macroon from Bouchon. I just picked it up and its falling apart. It makes me wonder if my grip is too hard or this macroon is just too fragile. Wish it was a little less sweet but I do love sweet things! I wish I took more pictures in napa but this is the only one I've got. (My vent about the winery that I went to will be at the end. I don't want to ruin my mood just yet!)

Live Scallop Nigiri from Ariake

Love Chirashi <-- name of the Chirashi, got it cuz I love it!

Eel Rice

Lion King roll (my grandma only likes cooked food)

Time to vent!!!!!

A way to ruin your day? Visit Sterling Winery in Napa.

They ruined Mother's day for my family. My grandma who is in her mid-80s needed my mom's help holding her wine glass as we are walking through the winery. When we got upstairs passed the barrel's room there was a complementary wine tasting station and they had 3 wines for us to try. The blonde mid age woman with very short hair (wish I got her name so I can cal to complain about her) was beyond rude to to them. She was saying that my mom was asking for wine to be poured over and over again which was not true. She was just helping my grandma holding the wine glass while my grandma looked for a place to sit. And when my uncle tried to stick up for them she yelled at him too. HOW rude and unprofessional can a server get?!?!?!?! Come on! You are at work, even if you hate you job at least act like you like it! Seriously she would be the reason why people would not come back.

As for the wine, there was one that I really liked and was going to by but because of that rude server, I didn't want to give them an business. No pictures of that winery because I don't like them.

My Weekend: Hair Salon & Ikea

Nothing much happened this weekend. On Saturday, I took Rainie to Pet's Mart to get a hair cut. While she was getting pampered I decided to get my hair straighten. My mom and I went to the hair salon and she got her hair permed. It took a good 3 hrs!! The place that we went to was super busy and packed! Very crazy inside!! Right after my mom's hair was done she went back to pick Rainie up and back to the Salon to pick me up because hair straightening takes about 5hr!!!

First they put on a hair relaxer for 45 mins. Then washes it off, blow dries, and straighten. Repeat process with some cream that is used for holding shape. Yup!~ This process takes 5 hrs and 2 days of not washing hair. Good thing I only for this once every couple of years!

Sunday: Just an Ikea kinda day. Nothing special.

My super FURRY baby is no longer super furry!! She is still just as adorable!!!

As for me, I still look the same. My hair was just slightly waved and straightening it just made it look a bit more tidy!
